Alhamdulillah I am honoured to share that the Bangladesh Journal of Pain (BJPain) has received an official recognition from the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) in February 2026. Bangladesh Journal of Pain (BJPain) is the official organ of Bangladesh Society for Study of Pain (BSSP). The present title carries the heritage of its initial name ‘Pain Journal’. The new title and cover designed was approved as BJPain in the year 2022. Under the leadership of our mentor, Professor KM Iqbal and national and international pain researchers and educators, the new journey was begun in the year 2022. The cover was designed by Professor Manzare Shamim, the renowned anatomist of BMU. Today, Bangladesh Society for the Study of Pain (BSSP) organized a successful Essential Pain Management Workshop within the Division of Pain Medicine and Regional Anaesthesia at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). This was a unique workshop as it for the 1sr time it involved undergraduate MBBS students in addition to our postgraduate MD and DA students and nurses. Three workshops were conducted simultaneously, with a total of 70 participants—24 postgraduate students, 22 undergraduate students, and 24 nurses. The success of today's EPM program was made possible through the strategic guidance and leadership of our Division Head, Professor Akm Akhtaruzzaman Sir and his dynamic team.
