Prof Anil Agarwal India rrrr Anil Agarwal is serving as a professor in Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has special interest in pain medicine and palliative care. He was past president of Indian Society for Study of Pain. He has 154 publications and 214 presentations. He achieved excellence and leadership award in palliative care among SAARC countries.
Prof Bibhukalyani Das India new das Bibhukalyani Das is serving as medical director, Institute of Neuroscience, Kolkata, India. She is the chief of Neuroanaesthesia, Neuro ICU and Pain clinic of the same institute.
Professor Bibhukalyani Das was immediate past president of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, Kolkata Branch. She was also the president of Indian Society for study of pain in 2004-2005. She received “Life Time achievement award of ISSP in 2014”. She has about 96 publications in various national, international journals, CME books and conference proceedings.
Prof Bhavna Shah India new bhavna Bhavna Shah is serving as a professor of Anaesthesiology, Pain and Palliative care in Gujrat cancer and Research Institute, Ahmedabad, India. She is working more than 25 years in this institute. She acquired fellowship in pain management from Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, USA in 1995.
Her main interest is in pain medicine. Now she is the Vice President of ISSP (Indian Society for the Study of Pain). She was Govt. council member of ISSP (Indian Society for the Study of Pain) from 2008-2011. She has more than 20 publications in national & international journal.
Prof BabitaGhai India rrrr BabitaGhai is serving as Additional professor, Department of nesthesia and Intensive care, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. She acquired her MBBS and MD Anesthesia from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She also achieved commonwealth fellowship in Pain management from Barts and London NHS trust,London, UK in 2012. She was instrumental in starting a formal pain clinic under the department of Anesthesia at her Institute. She is actively involved in pain management practice and research, and perusing many projects in pain management field. She has nearly 65 international publications to her credit most of which are in pain related field. Most recent are three publications in Pain Physician(Impact factor 10.89, including one RCT and one meta-analysis). She was Executive member of Indian Society for study of pain (ISSP) for two terms. (2008-2014). She is the founder member and Secretary of Chandigarh branch of ISSP. BabitaGhai is a regular member of IASP since 2004. She has many presentations in various national and international conferences.
Prof Debasish Hota India debashis Debasish Hota is serving as professor and head of the department of Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, India. He is MBBS, MD-Pharmacology and DM-ClinicalPharmacology from India’s two prestigious Institutes He is interested in pain medicine and research, especially chronic pain and diabetic neuropathy management. He has outstanding achievement as contributor in NICE guidelines. He has about 50 pubmed indexed publications. He is in the editorial board member of 2 prestigious journals; (i)World journal of Anaesthesiology (Hong Kong) and (ii) Local and Regional Anesthesia, Dove Press, New Zealand.
Prof Eric Buchser Switzerland eric Eric Buchser is serving as senior consultant, dept of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Pain Management and Neuromodulation Centre, EHC Hospital of Morges, Switzerland. He was former head of the same department. He availed MD in Anaesthesia in 1983.He has huge number of publications. Among them 95 publications in peer reviewed journal, 9 publications in non peer reviewed journal, 6 chapters in books and monograph, 100 abstracts and posters. He is a section editor for the journal Neuromodulation. More than 100 times he was invited speakers in various national and international conferences.
Prof Gautam Das India Gautam.Das Gautam Das is the director of Daradia Pain clinic, Kolkata, India. He is a visiting faculty of Padjadjaran University, Indonesia. He is also a visiting faculty of several universities in India and abroad. He stood first in MD in Anaesthesia examination of Calcutta University. In addition, he passed fellowship in interventional pain practice (FIPP) from world institute of Pain, USA. Gautam Das is teaching pain management since 2007 to about 1000 postgraduate doctors from different specialties from 40 countries. Gautam Das became the chief executive editor of Indian Journal of Pain in 2012. He is the author of 3 popular textbook on pain.
Prof Graham Arthurs United Kingdom Graham Arthurs is serving as consultant anaesthetist from October 1977 to date, Northeast Wales NHS trust, Maelor Hospital, Wrexham UK. He acquired MB ChB in 1969 from Leeds, FRCA in 1974, OBE 1996 and FBCPS. He is very dynamic and enthusiastic. He is continuously trying to improve and spread the knowledge of anaesthesia. He was examiner for Royal College of Anaesthetist from 1983 to 2003, regional education advisor of the Royal College of Anaesthetist in Wales, Chairman of the specialty training committee for anaesthesia in Wales, founding chairman of Wales Health Work Partnership. He is the external examiner in Anaesthesia to Sudan, Dublin, Singapore, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He is actively involved in establishing a rotary funding Post basic nurses training course in intensive care at BSMMU, Dhaka and established a palliative care service in Bangladesh. Graham Arthurs has huge publications. Among them some newest publications are Ultrasound in Anaesthetic practice, he is the author of Resuscitation –A concise handbook.
Prof GP Dureja India kkkk G P Dureja was former professor of AIIMS, New Delhi, worked for 21 years as a faculty and set up the pain clinic at AIIMS, New Delhi, India. Presently he is the director of Delhi Pain management centre, “a state of the art” pain management centre in India. In addition, he is the head of the department of Pain medicine, Indian spinal injury centre, New Delhi. He is the pioneer of advanced interventional pain management service in India. He has over 210 publications. He is the author of 6 books and recently wrote a book entitled “Handbook of pain management”. Good numbers of Bangladeshi doctors are trained from Delhi Pain Centre.
Prof Geeta Joshi India ggggg Geeta Joshi is serving as professor and director of Anaesthesiology, Head of pain & palliative medicine, Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, BJ Medical College, Ahmadabad.
She has special interest in pain & palliative medicine, infection control and hospital waste management. Geeta Joshi was joint secretary of Indian society for study of pain form 2003-2006. She is the president of “South Asian Regional Pain Society” since 2014 for two years. She has 30 research paper and two book chapters in various indexed journals.
Prof Gauhar Afshan Pakistan aaaa Gauhar Afshan is a Professor of Anaesthesia &Chairman, Department of Anaesthesiology, Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan.
She is the founder of first multidisciplinary pain setup in Pakistan in the year 1998 and has extensive years of experience in pain management and related research. She is currently engaged in various international projects related to pain. She is the author of more than 50 peer reviewed publications and many are under review. She has tremendous contribution in post graduate education and has been the program director of Anaesthesia and pain fellowship program. She was President of South Asian Regional Pain Society (SARPS) – 2012-2014. She was involved in editorial board of several national & international medical journals. Currently she is the Lead Guest Editor for a Special Issue of BioMed Research International 2013-2014.
Dr Jyotsna Punj India 111 Jyotsna Punj is serving as additional professor of Anaesthesiology and critical care, AIIMS, New Delhi, India. She has special interest on USG guided nerve block. Jyotsna Punj was joint organizing secretary of INCRAA (International Conference on Recent Advances in Anaesthesiologists) organized by AIIMS in 2009, 2011 and 2013. Moreover she delivered various lectures and was invited speaker in many national and international conferences. She has more than 70 indexed publications.
Prof Khalid Bashir Pakistan Khalid Bashir is serving as professor of Anaesthesia and In-charge of Pain Management Centre, Lahore General Hospital, Postgraduate Medical Institute since 2005. He acquired his MBBS in 1980 from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad. Then he got MCPS in 1982 and FCPS in 1996 in Anaesthesiology from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan.
His field of interest is pain medicine, specially interventional pain management. Khalid Bashir is supervisor for DA, MCPS, FCPS, MS in Anaesthesiology examination. He has many presentations and publications e.g. Role of pain clinic in chronic pain, Management of chronic and cancer pain, etc.

Dr Palak Mehta India dddd Palak Mehta is serving as Director of Pain Care Clinic, Ahmedabad, India. She is also the Head of Department and incharge of Healthcare Global (HCG) cancer and multispecialty hospital, Ahmedabad. She acquired MD (Anaesthesiology) from BJMC, Ahmedabad in July 2006. Then she qualified AAFIPM from Kolkata (DARADIA : The Pain Clinic ) and passed FIPP from Netherland in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Her main field of interest is pain medicine. She is also associate editor and reviewer of Indian Journal of Pain. She has 6 national and 2 international publications. Palak Mehta is the author of handbook of “Interventional pain management” and chief editor of “How to start and run a Pain clinic”. She is a visiting Faculty at Padjadjran University , Bandung, Indonesia. She was organizing secretary of 7th SARPS congress 2014.
Dr Renu Sinha India hhhh Renu Sinha is serving as additional professor in the department of Anaesthesiology, AIIMS, New Delhi, India. She acquired her MBBS with distinction in anatomy and gold medal in Gynae and Obs. Then she availed MD in Anaesthesiology. She received certificate of AIIMS research excellence award in 2014. She has special interest in Paediatric and Ophthalmic anaesthesia and pain management in children. She conducted many national and international workshops on difficult airway and ultrasound guided nerve blocks. She was invited speaker of 20 national and international conferences. She has 54 national and international publications.

Prof Setsuro Ogawa Japan lll Setsuro Ogawa is serving as professor and chairman of department of Anaesthesiology, Nihon University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. He became registered anaesthetist in 1976 and availed PhD in 1979. He has special interest in pain medicine. Setsuro ogawa is the president of Japanese Society for study of chronic pain. He is also the director of Japanese Society for the Study of Locomotive Pain.
Prof Seema Mishra India vvv Seema Mishra is serving as an additional professor in the dept. of Anaesthesia, Pain & Palliative Care at the Institute of Rotary Cancer Hospital (IRCH), AIIMS, New Delhi, India. Her main area of interest is cancer pain management & palliative care. She is executive member of Indian Association of Palliative care. She is member of various national and international societies, such as world Institute of pain, International association for study of pain, International association of Hospice and palliative care etc. She has more than 100 publications in different national and International journals.
Prof Victor Mendis United Kingdom cccc Dr Mendis Graduated with a first class degree from the Vinnitsa Medical Academy in Ukraine in 1990 and Obtained an MD Anaesthesia in 1998 from the University of Colombo. He Completed his Specialist Training in Anaesthesia at Barts and The London Hospitals, obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2005. He also completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine in London. He was appointed a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics at Mid Essex NHS Trust in 2005.
He was appointed as a Regional Advisor in Pain Medicine for The Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2010 and is also a College Assessor. He is an executive member of the Training and Assessment Committee of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anaesthetists. He is currently Co-leading a project on work force planning for Pain Medicine in the UK. He sits on various International Advisory Boards for Pain Medicine and has been a guest speaker at many International Scientific Meetings. He was the Principal Investigator for a Pan-European drug trial and has many publications to his credit.
Dr Yoshika Takahashi Japan pppppp Yoshika Takahashi is serving as an assistant professor in Department of Anaesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Juntendo University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. She acquired MD 2004 from Hokkaido University School of Medicine, Sapporo, Japan in the year 2004. Then she attained PhD in 2012 from Juntendo University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan.Yoshika Takahashi is a member of different national and international organizations, such as International Anaesthesia Research Society, International Association for the Study of Pain and many more. She has a lot of presentations and publications. She is honored for the best presentation award in 2005 by 31stConference of Japanese Intensive Care Medicine, Tokyo, Japan.
